Coaching Conference: Leadership and Coaching for Organisational Transformation

North West Employers, in partnership with NWIEP and the Leadership and Transformation Gateway, held a Coaching Conference: Leadership and Coaching for Organisational Transformation on 29 June 2009 at Old Trafford Football Ground, Manchester.

The purpose of the event was to demonstrate how developing a coaching culture can make a real difference to performance, support the transformation agenda and demonstrate a return on investment.

Many local authorities are already committed to coaching programmes and are experiencing substantial benefits, and the conference provided an opportunity for delegates to share ideas and to understand how coaching can support public sector organisations with the current challenges we are facing.

The conference attracted just short of 100 delegates, ranging from Chief Executives, senior team members and organisational development professionals. We were privileged to be joined by some pioneering individuals as guest speakers: Sir John Whitmore, Executive Chairman, Performance Consultants International; Liz Macann, Co-founder and Head of the BBC’s in-house Executive Leadership and Management Coaching Network; Peter Bluckert, Managing Director, PB Coaching; and Ian Munro, Chief Executive, New Charter Housing Trust Group. The workshops were facilitated by Martin Palethorpe, Performance Consultant and Executive Coach, The Pragma Group; Phil Badley, Service Director, Stockport MBC; and Lois Burton and Lynn Scott, Executive and Team Coaches, North West Employers' Associates.
