Lancashire Police Authority “Achieving Member Development Status is a really important milestone, both for the members of Lancashire Police Authority, and also for the local community The role of the Police Authority is to act on behalf of our local community, to ensure that we have an efficient and effective police force in Lancashire; I believe this new status will instill even more confidence in the community that they have a highly trained group of people, with the best mix of skills, acting on their behalf.” Councillor Malcolm Doherty, Chairman of Lancashire Police Authority,
“I am delighted that the members of Lancashire Police Authority have been awarded Member Development Status by North West Employers. It is something that the whole team has been working towards since 2007 when I first came to the position of Chief Executive of the Police Authority, and we are incredibly proud to have gained this recognition
“I truly believe Member Development Status will be beneficial to everyone concerned – the Authority’s business planning processes have been strengthened and honed, individual Members will have the best opportunities for sharing knowledge and of course most importantly, the wider community will benefit from a cohesive, motivated team consistently representing their concerns and priorities on policing.”
Miranda Carruthers-Watt, Chief Executive
“Being awarded Member Development Status is well deserved recognition for the Lancashire Police Authority, and the overall training opportunities and procedures the Authority puts into place to benefit each individual member of its team

This ensures we have Members performing at the right level, enabling our Members, the Authority and the police force to be operating at their very best.”

“Awarding Member Development Status to the Lancashire Police Authority is a well earned accolade. Since the introduction of the Member Development Strategy, I have observed that both Members and Officers have taken on tasks and roles more confidently through the training they have been provided with.
“Succeeding in achieving personal ambitions is vital for Members to remain energised and passionate about the role they play in the Authority. Being able to provide each individual Member with better structured and more comprehensive support through training and development, and being recognised for it, is a great achievement for the Authority.”
