Networking
The North West already has some well established vibrant networks that have been sustained through the enthusiasm and commitment of the Officers and Members involved. For further details of existing networks and their work please click the link below.

Gateway AdviserCommunities of Practice
NWIN (now part of the North West Improvement and Efficiency Partnership - NWIEP) has provided funding to establish several Communities of Practice which may be of interest to Elected Members. A Community of Practice is a network of individuals with common problems or interests, usually with a specific area of knowledge. This can happen face-to-face or in an online environment.
Appetite for Learning
For those with a larger appetite we have worked in partnership with the IDeA and have set up a Community of Practice for people from the North West who are interested in Elected Member development.
Online Environment
To help Communities of Practice in local government create and share their knowledge, the IDeA has developed an online environment that provides a range of collaborative tools.
