Neighbourhoods Community of Practice
Following the successful launch of the NWIN (now part of the North West Improvement and Efficiency Partnership - NWIEP) Community of Practice on Neighbourhood Working at a conference on 25 July 2007, Members and Officers from across the region are invited to join the Community.
The Community will focus on issues of Neighbourhood Management and is built upon the outcomes of successful capacity building work undertaken by Oldham and Salford in this area.
Partners include authorities from across the region: NWIEP; Centre for Local Governance; National Neighbourhood Management Network; North West Together We Can; and RENEW Northwest.
The Community of Practice seeks to develop vibrant clusters across the North West region to research, develop, share and transfer effective practice in relation to neighbourhood working.
The aim is to bring together multi-disciplinary groups to develop collaborative learning able to explore and examine specific neighbourhood management puzzles.
The whole process will be backed up by an e-forum on TALK. TALK has been funded by CfLG as a social network site for communities and the government sector.
TALKThe work-streams will benefit from involvement of Elected Members, Policy and Organisational Development Officers, practitioners including community development staff and neighbourhood-based staff.
