2008 Awards

On 23 April 2008 we held our second celebration event for the Equality and Diversity Awards at the Lowry Hotel, Salford. Almost 100 people joined us and took the opportunity to browse around the marketplace of authorities showcasing their achievements and successful submissions.
We had an overwhelming 35 submissions, of which 14 met the NWEO criteria from nine authorities/partner organisations in the North West.

This year the Award Scheme was supported by the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) and an additional award was presented by Nicky Horn to Sefton MBC for the Celebrating Diversity, Dispelling Myths – Gypsy and Travellers project, for being the most innovative submission relating to Children’s Services.
