Runcorn Bridge The HR Team’s role in helping organisations get the best from their people is to:

  • Provide a strategic overview on human resource issues.
  • Represent the views of North West authorities as employers.
  • Provide cost effective and timely support, advice and guidance to individual local authorities.
We do this through:

  • Delivery of North West Employers HR related regional initiatives.
  • Continued networking.
  • Working with appropriate partners.
The HR Team provides employment related advice, support and guidance to promote good practice within local authorities and associated bodies - see Current Projects in the navigation pane on the left.

We constantly monitor and respond to HR related consultation papers that could impact on local authorities’ working practices.

We provide good practice guides and monthly HR bulletins on employment related issues that can be downloaded or accessed via our department contacts, such as fact sheets on industrial action and work life balance manual.

We also work alongside the Trade Unions to facilitate a joint machinery to support and encourage better employee relations by regular meetings of joint committees and providing joint guidance for authorities.
