New Guidance on Preventing Workplace Harassment and Violence Launched
Employers, unions and the Government joined forces to promote new guidance on preventing harassment and violence in the workplace. The guidance, which follows a Europe-wide agreement between employers’ organisations and trade unions, aims to give practical help and support to firms and their employees.
The guide signals the first time that the CBI, (Confederation of British Industry), the Partnership of Public Employers (PPE) and the Trades Union Congress (TUC) have come together to provide guidance on harassment and violence in the workplace.
North West Employers’ Deputy Chief Executive, Dave Campbell, said: “Any form of harassment or violence is unacceptable, and North West Employers has a long history of challenging such behaviour in the workplace. As one of the PPE Partners we welcome this guidance and the opportunity once again to raise awareness and the understanding of local authorities as employers.”
Preventing Workplace Harassment and Violence
The guidance has support of the Government, including the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
