Disputes and Conciliation Service
The Joint Regional Council provides a two-tier conciliation service to local authorities and trade union branches. In the first instance, the Joint Secretaries to the Joint Regional Council attempt informal conciliation to help the parties locally to reach agreement. If that approach proves unsuccessful, the matter can be referred to a formal hearing by the Regional Disputes Committee.
